Kilpatrick Beach and Kilmichael Point are located in Co Wexford, southeast Ireland and comprised of unconsolidated windblown sand. Kilmichael Point is a rocky headland approximately 8 km south of Arklow Town. Ordovician metamorphic slates and phylites outcrops along the coast as a wave-cut platform, where the overlying sediment has been eroded. Cliffs within the sediment rise in steps to about 10m above sea level. Kilpatrick Beach, unprotected by the rock platform, lies to the south with an actively eroding dune system.

A low-cost fixed wing senseFly eBee plus with SODA camera was used to record coastal morphology over five surveys from March 2019 to October 2021. Over the 31 month study period the coastline retreated by up to 15.9 m (6.2 m/yr) with 16.4 k m3 of sediment removed; 97.5 % from coastline unprotected by the rock platform.
