Caer arfordirol hynafol ryfeddol yng Ngheredigion sydd dan fygythiad erydiad arfordirol yw Castell Bach. Ni wyddom pryd yr adeiladwyd y safle, ond credir ei fod yn dyddio’n ôl i’r cyfnod cynhanesyddol ac iddo gael ei ddefnyddio fel man cyfarfod arbennig gan yr hen bobl. Mae gan y gaer ffos ddwbl a chlawdd, a ffos a chlawdd consentrig mwy o faint sy’n awgrymu bod ardal allanol ychwanegol yma. Mae’n ymddangos bod y lloc mewnol yn amgylchynu’r ardal lle roedd pont dir gul, a gollwyd yn rhannol i erydiad erbyn hyn, yn cysylltu’r ynysig fach yn y môr â’r tir mawr ar un adeg.

Fel rhan o’r Prosiect CHERISH, byddwn yn ymchwilio i Gastell Bach ac yn ei fonitro’n ofalus er mwyn dysgu mwy am hanes y safle cyn i fwy ohono ddisgyn i’r môr.
